Research on "Hydrodynamic
Interactions Among Multiple Cylinders"
Research Summary: Hydrodynamic
Interactions between a group of truncated vertical cylinders of circular cross
section and regular waves are investigated using Kagemoto's exact algebraic method and Garret's single
cylinder diffraction characteristics. Both diffraction and radiation problems
are solved in surge, heave and pitch modes.

University
Research Assistant
Research on a EPSRC project entitled " Statistical Modelling of Environmental Parameters for
Reliability Analyses of Floating and Compliant Offshore Structures".
Research Summary: 1) Motion
Response Simulation of Semi-Submersibles Under Wave, Wind and Current Loading
Using Time and Frequency Domain Techniques. 2) The Effect of magnitude and of direction of
environmental forces on the motion responses and on the mooring forces of
semi-submersibles. 3) Extreme Motion Response Simulation with a Time Domain
Model Developed for Moored Semi-Submersibles. In this study
parametric studies were carried out to simulate some of the incidents of 1990
storm in which some mooring line failures occurred. 4) Mooring Line Damping
Prediction and Extreme Motion Response Analysis of Moored Semi-Submersibles.
First order and slowly varying motions and mooring forces were
combined to find the total extreme responses. 5) Effect of Double-Peaked
Wave Spectra on the Behaviour of Moored Semi-Submersibles.
