Mimar Nevzat Sayın ile söyleşi

AFA (Activities of Faculty of Architecture) grubu üyelerinin, İzmir Mimarlar Odası katkılarıyla organize ettiği ve ünlü mimar Nevzat Sayın'ın konuşmacı olarak katıldığı söyleşi ve sunum, 5 Nisan 2007 Perşembe günü, Mimarlık Fakültesi A Blok seminer salonunda gerçekleştirildi. İçeriği, "kısıtlı olanaklarla geleneksel inşa yöntemleri geliştirmek; küçük yapılar/konut" ve "karmaşık işlevler için gelişmiş teknolojileri kullanmak; büyük yapılar/fabrika" konularından oluşan söyleşi ve sunum öncesinde, Mimarlık Bölüm Başkanımız Doç. Dr. Murat Günaydın bir giriş konuşması gerçekleştirdi. Ağa Han Mimarlık ödüllerine aday gösterilen ve çok sayıda ödülün de sahibi olan Sayın, geniş katılımın olduğu sunumda, İzmir Dikili'de yer alan konut projeleri ile matbaa fabrikası projesine ait tasarım ve inşaat aşamalarını, resim ve çizimlerinden oluşan fotoğraflarla aktardı. Mimar Nevzat Sayın ile mimar Serhat Akbay'a öğrenciler tarafından birer armağanın sunulmasıyla tamamlanan sunum, yine AFA tarafından düzenlenen ağaç dikme şenliğiyle devam etti. Şenliğe de katılarak öğrencilerle ağaç diken Nevzat Sayın, okulumuzdan ayrılmadan önce, Ar. Gör. Feray Maden ile bir röportaj gerçekleştirdi.

Conversation with the architect Nevzat Sayın

Members of the AFA (Activities of Faculty of Architecture) group, by the help of İzmir Chamber of Architects, organized a conversation and presentation with the participation of renowned architect Nevzat Sayın as the conferencier, on 5 April Thursday, in the seminar room at Building A of Faculty of Architecture. As the Chair of the Department of Architecture, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Günaydın held an inaugural speech before the presentation which comprised the subjects of "to evolve traditional construction methods with the limited possibilities; small scale buildings/dwelling" and "to utilize from advanced technologies for the complex functions; large scale buildings/plant." As being an architect proposed as a candidate for the Aga Khan Architectural Awards and having many other architectural awards, Sayın, presented and quoted the photographs and information about the constructional phases and drawings of his executed projects comprising dwellings in İzmir Dikili and a plant of press. There was a great participation to the conversation which was ended by the presentation of gifts to the architects Nevzat Sayın and Serhat Akbay. After the presentation, Nevzat Sayın participated to the activity of tree-planting, as well, which was also organized by the AFA group-members. Finally, before he left our school, Res. Assist. Feray Maden made an interview with the architect.
