2007 Yaz Rölöve Stajı tamamlandı.

2006-2007 öğretim yılında İYTE Mimarlık ve Şehir ve Bölge Planlama Bölümü öğrencilerinin birlikte yaptığı AR 190 Rölöve Stajı, 9-20 Temmuz 2007 tarihleri arasında, Çanakkale ilinin Ayvacık ilçesi ve köylerinde gerçekleşti. Staj süresince başta ilçe kaymakamı Şenol Levent Elmacıoğlu ve belediye başkanı Mehmet Ünal Şahin olmak üzere, ilçe ve bölgedeki çeşitli kurum ve kuruluşların verdiği destek, İYTE Şehir ve Bölge Planlama Bölümü yarı-zamanlı öğretim üyesi ve Ayvacık Belediyesi İmar Müdürü İzzet Özkeresteci tarafından kurulan bağlantılar sayesinde sağlandı. Çalışma programı İYTE Mimarlık Bölümü'nden Zeynep Aktüre tarafından oluşturulan ve aynı bölümden Feray Maden ve Kader Reyhan, İYTE Şehir ve Bölge Planlama Bölümü'nden Ulaş Kılıçkaya ve Ömer Selvi ile İYTE Restorasyon Bölümü'nden İpek Akbaylar ile birlikte yürütülen staja iki bölümden toplam 60 öğrenci katıldı.

İYTE Rektörlüğü araçlarıyla İzmir'den Ayvacık'a hareketlerinden hemen önce Kader Reyhan tarafından yapılan kısa bir sunuştan ölçülü çizim konusundaki ilk bilgilerini alan öğrenciler, altı ve dört kişilik altışar grup halinde Ayvacık eski kent merkezindeki tarihi yapılar ve sokaklarda yaptıkları ilk ölçümlerle bu bilgilerin ilk uygulamasını yaptılar ve stajın dördüncü günü öğleye kadar ilk projelerinin çizimlerini büyük ölçüde tamamlamayı başardılar. Aynı günün öğleden sonrası, bölgedeki en önemli arkeolojik alanlardan biri olan Assos'a dinlenmeyle birleşen bir eğitim gezisi ile değerlendirildi.

Staj ekibi ikinci projede ikiye bölünerek, ilk projede tek yapı çalışan gruplar Söğütlü köyünde sokak cephesi, sokak cephesi çalışanlar ise Paşaköy'de biri cami olmak üzere dört tek yapı ölçümü gerçekleştirdi. Böylece tüm gruplar hem tek yapı ölçeğinde plan, görünüş, kesit ve detay, hem de sokak ölçeğinde cephe ve genel görünüş ölçüm ve çizimleri yapmayı öğrenmiş oldular. İkinci projenin ölçüm ve çizimine ayrılan üç günü, bölgedeki Apollo Smitheion Tapınağı ve Truva antik kenti ile Çanakkale'ye düzenlenen eğitim gezisi izledi.

Gezinin ardından ikinci projelerinin çizimlerini tamamlayan gruplar, bir yandan her iki projenin çizimlerinde gerekli düzeltmeleri yaparken, bir yandan da çalışılan üç ayrı yerleşim için 1/500 ölçekli birer arazi paftası hazırladılar. Staj boyunca çekilen fotoğrafların arşivlenmesinin ardından, her yerleşimde ölçülüp çizilen yapı ve sokakları, ayrıca Ayvacık eski kent merkezindeki ilk çalışma gününün öğleden sonrasında saptanan kat yükseklikleri ile kullanım farklılıklarını gösterenler arasından seçilen fotoğraflar ilgili paftalara yapıştırılarak, çalışmalar tamamlandı.

Tüm çizimler bir araya getirilerek staj boyunca çizim çalışmalarının yürütüldüğü okulun yemek salonunda açılan sergi, halen bölge yetkilileri ve aralarında Ayvacık Uluslararası Kültür ve Sanat Şenliği katılımcıları da bulunan diğer ziyaretçiler tarafından görülebiliyor. Staj süresince yapılan çalışmaların, gerek Ayvacık, gerekse Paşaköy ve Söğütlü'de hızla değişmekte olan mevcut dokuyu belgelemiş olmanın yanı sıra, ilgili yerel yöneticilerin mimari ve kentsel mirası koruma amaçlı girişimlerine iyi bir temel oluşturacağı anlaşılıyor.

2007 Summer Practice for survey and measured drawing has been finished.

In the Academic Year 2006-2007, AR 190 Measured Drawing Summer Practice, which is offered to the first year undergraduate students of IZTECH Departments of Architecture and City and Regional Planning, took place on 9 – 20 July, 2007 in the Avyacık Municipality and villages of the Çanakkale province of Turkey. The support provided for the practice by several municipal and district bodies including the district governor, Şenol Levent Elmacıoğlu, and the mayor of Ayvacık, Mehmet Ünal Şahin, was made possible thanks to the contact established by İzzet Özkeresteci who is the current head of the planning department of Ayvacık Municipality and part-time instructor in IZTECH Department of City and Regional Planning. A total of 60 students from both departments participated in the practice whose working programme was outlined by Zeynep Akture from IZTECH Department of Architecture and implemented with the participation of Feray Maden and Kader Reyhan from the same Department, Ulaş Kılıçkaya and Ömer Selvi from IZTECH Department of City and Regional Planning, and İpek Akbaylar from IZTECH Department of Architectural Restoration.

Immediately before their departure from İzmir to Ayvacık on busses provided by IZTECH, the students were introduced into the topic of measured drawing by a short lecture presented by Kader Reyhan. Working in six groups of six and six groups of four students, they did the first practice of this information by measuring some of the historic houses and streets of the old town center of Ayvacık, and managed to complete most of the drawings of their first projects by noontime on the fourth day of the practice. The afternoon of that day was spent in a half-educational half-recreational trip to Assos, which is one of the most important archaeological sites in the region.

The participating group of students were divided into two groups for the second project of the practice, in such a way that those groups that had studied a single building as their first project would now switch to working on some street façades in the Söğütlü village while those that had studied street façades would now measure a total of four single buildings including a mosque in the Paşaköy village. In this way, all groups could learn how to measure and draw the plans, sections, elevations, and details of a single building, as well as façades and elevations in street scale. The three days reserved for the measurement and drawing of the second projects were followed by an educational visit to the Apollo Smintheion Temple and the ancient city of Troia in the region, and to Çanakkale.

After the trip, the groups that had completed drawing their second projects passed on to making the corrections in both projects while, at the same time, a 1/500 scale map was being prepared for each one of the three study areas. After archiving the photographs taken throughout the study period, the practice was completed by mounting, on the relevant site maps, a selection among the photographs showing the measured and drawn buildings and streets in each study area, as well as the differences between building heights and land uses in the old town centre of Ayvacık, which were investigated in the afternoon of the first working day at the site.

An exhibition all the produced documents is still open in the dining hall of one of the local schools that was used as a studio throughout the practice, for the visit of local officers and other visitors, including those participating in the Ayvacık International Festival of Culture and Arts. In addition to documenting the rapidly transforming existing texture both in Ayvacık and in its Söğütlü and Paşaköy villages, the documentation produced during the practice appears to have formed a sound basis for the attempts of local authorities for the protection of the architectural and urban heritage.
